Magellan Named Best Private School and Best Preschool in Best of ATX 2026

We did it, Magellan!

Magellan International School has been named Best Private School and Best Preschool in the 2026 Statesman/Austin Monthly Best of ATX awards.

These honors are especially meaningful because they reflect the voices of the Austin community. They recognize not only the education our students receive, but the extraordinary community of students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends who make Magellan what it is.

For more than 16 years, Magellan has grown from a small Spanish immersion preschool into a preschool–high school international school serving more than 600 students across two Austin campuses. Through that growth, our purpose has remained constant: creating an education that nurtures curiosity, builds global perspective, and prepares students to thrive in a changing world.

To our families: thank you for believing in Magellan, for trusting us with your children, and for sharing your experiences with others.

To our faculty and staff: thank you for bringing our mission to life every day through your creativity, care, expertise, and commitment to our students.

Being recognized in both the Best Private School and Best Preschool categories feels particularly special. Our Preschool is where the Magellan journey begins for so many families, while our growing K–12 program carries that foundation forward through Spanish immersion, the International Baccalaureate, and an innovative, globally minded approach to learning.

We are incredibly proud of these awards—and even more proud of the community behind them.
