Who We Are

Magellan International School began with a question: What if a school could prepare students not just for tests, but for the world? In 2007, that question sparked a bold vision—one that imagined a globally focused, language-immersive education unlike anything else in Austin.

Just two years later, Magellan opened its doors to 47 pioneering students and families. Built on core pillars of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, Spanish immersion, and design-centered innovation, the school quickly became a magnet for those seeking something more meaningful, inclusive, and future-ready.

Since then, the Magellan community has grown exponentially—now serving nearly 600 students across two campuses and expanding to include a high school. Along the way, we’ve remained agile, entrepreneurial, and deeply committed to our mission. From acquiring and transforming our Bull Creek campus in under a year to launching the final phase of the IB continuum with the Diploma Programme, we’re driven by both ambition and purpose.

Magellan isn’t just a school—it’s a community of explorers, thinkers, risk-takers, and global citizens. Together, we’ve built a place where curiosity thrives, where culture is celebrated, and where students are empowered to shape the world around them.
