Amaris Salazar

Director of Teaching and Learning
Amaris Salazar is a progressive educator with nearly three decades of experience both in the United States and internationally. Her career spans roles as a teacher, counselor, administrator, and consultant at some of the world’s most innovative educational institutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and Spanish, as well as advanced degrees in counseling and educational administration.

Amaris has been a trailblazer in education, serving as the founding head of two ELEducation schools and contributing to the development of New York State's Common Core curriculum as a School Designer. As the Director of Teaching and Learning at Graded – The American School of São Paulo, she spearheaded transformative initiatives including competency-based assessment, project-based curriculum development, instructional coaching as professional development, and enhancing student support services.

Her international experience includes 4.5 years in Colombia, where she served as Middle School and Academic Director at Gimnasio Los Caobos and later as the founding Head of School at Avante Global School in Cartagena. There, she led a team of forward-thinking educators to design personalized, innovative learning experiences for the next generation in Colombia.

Most recently, Amaris was the proud founding principal of Rocketship Explore Elementary in Fort Worth, where she continued her mission of creating impactful educational experiences. Her deep commitment to fostering meaningful learning and her dedication to empowering educators and students alike make her a dynamic leader in the field.
