Karen Hammons

Karen Hammons is a tech manager, people leader, veteran, wife and mom. After graduating from Colorado State University, with a BS in Business, Computer Information Systems, she entered the United States Air Force, serving for 8 years in multiple theaters. Her experiences varied in the military, but centralized around physical networking infrastructure buildout and management. Karen transitioned to Microsoft where she began infrastructure buildout for the core infrastructure of Azure. Today she leads a team streamlining operational processes for Azure engineering teams - ensuring engineers thrive during and between critical and urgent needs of our Azure customers. She holds an MS in eCommerce from Golden Gate University and an Executive Masters in Public Leadership (MPaff) from the LBJ School, UT Austin. She has been a nomad most of her life, having lived in multiple countries and states in the US. She and her family have lived in Austin since 2016; having found a home in the Magellan community, they plan to stick around for awhile.

 

Karen has two daughters, both students at Magellan from a young age. She's served on the Magellan board since 2023.
